Carol Margaret Peterson

Carol Margaret Peterson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Heaven Can Wait Assisted Living in Laveen, Arizona. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Palmer Leland Peterson, and is survived by three sons: Brian (Dorothy), Eric (Casey) and Jay (Sarah), and three grandchildren: Connor, Haley and Rose.

Carol was born on February 24, 1940, in Olympia and graduated in 1958 from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton, WA. She was married on March 12, 1960 at Silverdale Lutheran Church.

After attending Olympic College and Central Washington University, she began teaching and has left a legacy of students over the 4 decades that she taught at the North Kitsap School District. Everywhere we would go, someone would approach her and say, "Mrs. Peterson? Do you remember me?" and she seemed to remember everyone! She also had an incredible group of teacher friends that always seemed to be doing fun excursions and events to celebrate and support the community and one another.

She was very involved with First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo and especially mentioned her Lydia Circle Bible Studies and service opportunities. She shared her thankfulness to God for the many needs and prayers answered though the love and care within this church community.

She was also involved in card playing groups of bridge and pinochle groups. She loved getting together with friends and hosting them for these fun gatherings.

She loved clam digging, fishing and boating, cooking, and especially making Lefse.

Her kindness, generosity, and love for family, friends and students will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Celebration of life will take place in Hansville, Washington this Summer.
