EAST GREENBUSH - Carol Ann Picco, 77, of East Greenbush, passed away after a long illness, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Albany, N.Y.
Carol was born on July 14, 1948, in Patuxent River, Md., the daughter of the late Frederick J. Stokes Jr. and Edwina Beck Stokes. Her father was a Navy mechanic, and the family moved frequently, living in various locations within the United States, and a few years in Spain, before settling in El Paso, Texas. It was at the Fort Bliss Officers Club in El Paso that Carol met her husband of 57 years, Robert Picco.
Carol was an account clerk for East Greenbush Central Schools for 20 years, before retiring. Carol's hobbies included reading, tennis and knitting. She was a devoted and beloved mother and grandmother, who always added a bit of fun to most situations. She was a great friend to many - the type who always had an ear to listen, and a glass of wine (or margarita) ready. Carol, with her husband, had many friends that they enjoyed socializing with for many years.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Bob Picco; two daughters, Laura (Greg) Lachansk and Lisa (Ben) Turner; son, Bob Picco Jr.; her siblings, Frederick J. Stokes III and Cynthia Courtright; and her four granddaughters, Pauline, Madeline, Maya, and Daisy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, at 10 a.m., Friday morning, January 16, at the Holy Spirit Church, 667 Columbia Tpk., East Greenbush. Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
