Carol Pruitt was born in DeLand, FL, to the late John and Sadie Kitt Williams, on August 31, 1947.

She received her education through the Euclid City School District, attending Southwestern Junior/Senior High School and Euclid High School.

In pursuit of a better life and greater opportunities, Carol moved to Miami, Florida, in 1963. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ralph Pruitt. They married in April 1972 and shared 61 beautiful years together. Throughout those decades filled with love, laughter, compassion, and endurance, they welcomed four children: Robert (Robbie), Reginald, Rodney, and Chera.

Carol held several jobs throughout her life, including a position at Second Baptist Daycare, now known as the Children Learning Center. Later, she discovered her passion for customer service while working at Comcast (Xfinity), where she was employed for 19 years before retiring in 2007.

Carol accepted Christ at an early age and attended Kerr Memorial with her parents, singing in the choir while her father played the piano and her mother directed. In later years, she moved her membership to Second Baptist Church under the leadership of the beloved late Pastor John A. Ferguson. Carol continued her membership at Second Baptist under the leadership of Pastor Alphonso Jackson, Sr., and remained faithful until her health began to decline.

Carol's love for music led her to sing with various choirs and artists. These included the late Larry Walker and the Walker Ensemble, Sing Out Miami Mass Choir, God Evangelistical Team (G.E.T.), the Florida Mass Choir, and she also performed as a background singer for Milton Biggham, Kirk Franklin, and the late James Cleveland and Albertina Walker.

Carol was beloved by many. Her melodic alto voice and radiant smile brought joy to everyone she met.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, God, in His infinite wisdom, called Carol home to eternal rest. She now joins her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents, siblings John and Mary,

sons Robert Myers and Rodney Pruitt (Katrina Hughes), and her best friend, Hannah Khan.

She leaves to cherish loving and everlasting memories of those who preceded her in death and her devoted husband, Ralph Pruitt, children: Reginald Myers and Chera Boynton (Leroy), 11 grandchildren: Tamara Ellis, Willie Lewis (deceased), Michael and Christina Myers, Alphonso Brown, Ivan Houston, Princess Heard, Brandon Shuman, Tyler Urban, Jade Thompson, and Yorel Boynton, 18 Great-grand Children; Siblings: Mary Fulton (deceased), John Williams (deceased), Barbara Lee Avery, Sarah Cooper, Mary Alice James, Dan Pruitt (Mary), Kennie Pruitt (deceased), Martha Pruitt-Williams, Mary Jordan, Frank Pruitt (deceased), David Pruitt (deceased), Robert Pruitt (deceased), Christine Prescott, Janice Riggins (deceased), Charles Pruitt, Carroll (Skip) Pruitt (Charlotte), Jerry Pruitt (Carolyn) and Elnora Liggines; Godchildren Aprel and Keith Truesdall and a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
