Life Story for Carol Rizzuto

Carol Rizzuto, 89, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2025. She was born in the Bronx, New York, and in 1989 she and her husband, Arthur Rizzuto, moved from Ardsley, New York, to make Florida their home.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Rizzuto; her son, Peter Valcarcel; her brother, Charles Lein; her sister, Helen Casler; and her parents, Mary Faith Lein and Charles Lein.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Valcarcel; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three nieces; and two great-nephews.

Carol was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She worked as a crossing guard, school bus monitor, and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling-especially trips to Las Vegas and cruising-hosting friends and family, playing cards, shopping, and playing bingo.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Brewer Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a service following at 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, August 28, 2025, family and friends will gather at Brewer & Sons Funeral Home for a short ceremony before Carol is laid to rest at the Bushnell National Cemetery alongside her husband, Arthur.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carol's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
