"It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Carol Lynn Church Rothacker.
Supported by the unwavering love of her friends and family, Carol fearlessly confronted cancer with remarkable strength and grace. On January 11, 2024, she peacefully departed with her devoted husband by her side.
Carol came into the world on January 1, 1969, in Riverside, California. After experiencing various locales, she chose Redfield, South Dakota as her beloved home in 2010.
On February 7, 2014, she and Wes joyfully recommitted to each other, embarking on a new chapter of their life. She exuded a natural talent for creating a warm, nurturing home and took immense joy in mothering her two boys.
Serving as a dedicated Assistant Manager at ACE Hardware, Carol found fulfillment in her work and derived pleasure from her hobbies, most notably cooking, gardening, and treasuring precious moments with her family.
Survived by her devoted husband, Wesley Rothacker II, her loving sons, Wesley Rothacker III and Christopher Rothacker, her stepfather, Merle Duesing, and sisters Cheryl Dupree, Marion (Mike) Lewis, Donna Socolovitch, alongside numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Church, mother Constance Marie Hutson, brothers Robert Church, Donnie Church, sister Debbie. The effervescent spirit and radiant warmth that Carol exuded will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her enduring legacy of love and kindness will continue to flourish within our hearts."
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Carol's memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. After the service, lunch will be served at Leo's Good Food in Redfield.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
