Mary Rothacker

Mary Ann (Reynolds) Rothacker, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born in Wadsworth, January 12, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Pauline (Adams) Houston. Mary Ann grew up in Rittman, Ohio and moved back to Wadsworth when she was in the sixth grade and remained in Wadsworth for the rest of her life. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1957, married her high school sweetheart, Dick Reynolds in 1960 and they were together until his death in 1998. Mary Ann loved her home town of Wadsworth and especially enjoyed her jobs at Wadsworth High School and the City of Wadsworth, where she made many friends. She was a sports fan and cheered for the Grizzlies and the Cleveland sports teams. She enjoyed singing and all types of music and passed that love of music to her children. Her family will miss the afternoon drives she enjoyed, reminiscing and sharing snippets of Wadsworth's history.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mary Ann is survived by sons Jim (Melissa) of Columbus, and Jeff (Tara) of North Canton; daughter Jill (Jim) Caton of Columbus; grandchildren Cody and Carmen Reynolds, Jenni (Matt) Phipps, Jamie Caton and Tess Reynolds; great grandchildren Carsyn and Brooks Phipps; brother Joe (Carol) Houston of Decatur, Illinois; and sister Debbie (Sam) Britton of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband Denny Rothacker.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5-8 PM at the Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth. A service will be held at First Christian Church Friday February 24, 2023 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Sarah West officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Northeast Ohio Hospice or The Village of St. Edward at Wadsworth.
