Raymond C. Andre

Raymond C. Andre, age 89, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Rittman on Saturday, February 28, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Ray was born on October 31, 1936, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Margueritte Andre. He was a graduate of Wadsworth High School and proudly served his country in the National Guard for six years. On June 15, 1957 he married Patricia Lee Leatherman in Wadsworth, and she survives.

A lifelong farmer, Ray worked the family farm his entire life. In addition, he was employed full time as a truck driver with Dworkin Inc., and later hauled feed with Town & Country (later Centerra).

Ray was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau and was a worker through and through. He never liked to sit still-after driving truck all day, he would come home and climb right onto the tractor, spending the rest of the evening in the field. He took great pride in his cow, Flossie, whom he showed at the Ohio State Fair where he and Flossie won first place, and he never missed an opportunity to tell that story.

Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Auble-Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating.
