Diane Finn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Auble-Gillman Funeral Home - Rittman on Feb. 25, 2026.
Diane M Finn, of Wadsworth, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday February 19, 2026, at the age of 85, following a brief period of declining health.

Diane was born December 22, 1940, in Rock Island, Illinois, to the late Thomas and Laura (Jacobs) Jones. The family relocated to Louisville, Kentucky where she and her brothers grew up, later moving to Wadsworth, Ohio to raise her own family.

A member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Diane found joy in encouraging others. She loved supporting and mentoring young people through sports and activities. Whether cheering from the stands, helping coach or simply offering encouragement, she rarely missed a game involving her children, grandchildren or even great grandchildren.

In her spare time, Diane enjoyed playing Bingo with friends, watching the Cleveland Guardians and college basketball, listening to all kinds of music, dancing and relaxing with classic black and white movies. She also loved reading and sharing stories about her childhood in Louisville.

She is survived by her brother, Robert (Dana) Jones. Her children, John (Shelly) Finn, Chris (Traci) Finn, Andrea Grandetti, Mike (Rebecca) Finn, Shannon McIntyre and Thom (Shelley) Finn, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Diane was preceded by her father, Thomas H Jones and mother Laura M (Jacobs) Jones. Her brothers Frank McKinnis and Donald Jones, as well as her loving sister-in-law Diane Jones.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Cherish Hospice and St Luke's Lutheran Community for taking such loving care of our mother.

We find comfort in our faith, trusting that our mom/grammy is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Diane by extending kindness and compassion to others

A mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (260 Broad St. Wadsworth, Oh) on March 12, 2026, at 11:00am.
