Dennis K. Romain

Dennis K. Romain, age 85, of Wadsworth, formerly of Barberton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman, following a period of declining health.

Dennis, known to many as "Denny," was born on July 27, 1940, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Octave and Ruth (Long) Romain. He was a graduate of Wadsworth High School and proudly served his country as a Hospital Corpsman Third Class in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Denny pursued higher education at Ohio Northern University in Lima and later earned a degree in communications from the University of Akron.

Denny dedicated 33 years of service as a Laboratory Technician with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Among his many contributions, he worked on polymer research, including projects related to the development of artificial hearts; work that reflected both his technical skill and his quiet pride in meaningful innovation.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #385 in Wadsworth and the Akron Railroad Club. Denny had a wide range of interests and talents, including railroad history and collecting N-gauge model trains, maintaining aquariums and caring for fish, dressage, piloting aircraft, photography, and creating detailed colored-pencil artwork. His curiosity and creativity remained constants throughout his life.

He is survived by his cousin, Bonnie (Dan) King of West Salem, and his nephew, Rick Wood of Lakeville.

Friends may call on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Auble-Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, where a Masonic service is planned for 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth. Military rites will be observed.
