Ron Farver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Auble-Gillman Funeral Home - Rittman on Feb. 16, 2026.
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Ron Farver, a devoted son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, friend to many, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Ron was the kind of man you could lean on, steady as a dock post and strong as a summer sun over the lake. He lived his life quietly showing up for the people he loved, offering strength, laughter, and unwavering presence through every season.

Ron shared a deep and enduring love with his beloved wife, Cindy. Together, they spent countless hours on the water, where life slowed to a peaceful drift. The hum of the boat engine, the glow of the setting sun stretching low and orange across the lake, and Cindy always by his side, this was Ron's happy place. The lake brought him peace, but it was Cindy who made it home.

He was a proud and devoted father to his cherished daughter, Kate, a role he carried with deep love, attentiveness, and quiet strength. Ron was the kind of dad who simply showed up. He fixed what was broken, listened when it mattered, and cared deeply in ways both big and small. His love and pride for Kate were constant and unwavering.

Ron welcomed his son-in-law, Wally, not as an addition to the family, but as a son. To Ron, family was never just a word, it was a promise, one he honored every day.

His greatest joys multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren: Charlie, Rose, Annie "Little Alice", and Will. They were the light of his life and a source of immeasurable pride. He treasured every moment with them, from laughter-filled gatherings to quiet, meaningful time together.

Ron was also a beloved brother, a role he carried with loyalty, humor, and deep connection. He valued the bonds of family throughout his life, sharing memories, laughter, and steadfast support with his siblings.

Ron proudly served his country as a Specialist Fourth Class (SP4) in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) during the Vietnam era, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. He faced life with courage, resilience, and quiet strength; qualities that remained evident throughout his years.

Even as pain became a constant companion in later years, Ron never allowed it to define him. He continued to show up to games and celebrations, holidays and gatherings, always present, always supportive. Classic rock often filled the air, with music playing, Cindy laughing, and Ron smiling wide.

Ron loved deeply and fully. His legacy is one of devotion, resilience, service, and unconditional love. While his absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved him, his strength, kindness, and presence will remain forever woven into the lives of his family and friends.

And now, we imagine him somewhere peaceful, a quiet lake at sunset, the water calm, the air filled with music. Ron at the helm, Cindy in his heart, and family surrounding him in memory and love, still showing up, as he always did.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Walter E. Farver; his mother, Miriam D. Ware Farver; his father-in-law, William J. Hilton Sr.; his mother-in-law, Eleanor J. Byars Hilton; his brother in law, LR Saunders; and his sisters-in-law, Heidi Farver and Pam Farver.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Cindy Hilton Farver; his cherished daughter, Kate Theado; his son-in-law, Wally; and his adored grandchildren, Charlie, Rose, Annie, and Will.

Ron is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Linda) Farver, Tim Farver, and Denny Farver; his brother-in-law, Bill (Susan) Hilton, and Stan (Colleen) Hilton, sisters-in-law; Patti Hilton Saunders and Vicki Hilton; and many beloved nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, and treasured neighbors who were never far.

Visitation will be held at Auble Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281, on Thursday, February 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a service immediately following.

Burial will take place at 2:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273. A reception gathering will be held immediately following the burial at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to First Christian Church of Wadsworth or the Wadsworth Salvation Army, P.O. Box 300, Wadsworth, Ohio 44282.

Ron Farver will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
