Michael Farver Obituary
Michael James Farver, age 74, loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend went into Gods hands, Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
He was a resident of Valparaiso, and formerly of Merrillville, Ind. Mike was born in Chicago, Ill., graduating from CVS High School. He was employed at U.S. Steel Midwest Plant as a pipefitter, HVAC tech and ended up as a Training Coordinator and served his fellow Union Members as a Recording secretary and Union President for Local 6103. He was preceded in death by his loving son, Michael Farver; parents, Robert and Mary Farver; brothers-in-law, Lowell and Wayne Zions.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gail; son, Christopher (Summer), brothers, Robert (Laura) Farver, Russell (Marcia) Farver; sister, Kathy (Paul); sisters-in-law, Lee (Don), Adrienne (Tom), Sharon, Roberta and Pat Zions; brothers-in-law, Jeffrey (Patti), Dale (Barb), his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He loved sports, especially coaching his sons baseball teams, watching the white Sox and Chicago Bears. Mike enjoyed fishing, listening to music and being outdoors.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4 p.m. to the time of the memorial service at 6 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home and Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, donations to American Heart and Lung Association or to St. Judes, in his honor. www.burnsfuneral.com.
