Carol L. Runge, 68, of North Platte, passed away on December 9, 2024, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Carol was born December 6, 1956, in Manassas, Virginia, to Wilbert and Irene (Wean) Davis. She graduated from McCook High School in 1975, subsequently earning her nursing degree in 1990.
On November 1, 1980, Carol married Robin E. Runge at Culbertson, Nebraska. The couple eventually made their home in North Platte, and they were blessed with three children: Eric, Jonathan, and Heath.
Carol was dedicated to her career in nursing, but her greatest love and dedication was reserved for her family. She also greatly loved her dogs and cats, which benefited from her patient and nurturing spirit.
In addition to her caring temperament, those familiar with Carol might affectionately recall her penchant for making fashionably late entrances and her appreciation for an ice-cold Mountain Dew.
Carol was preceded in death by her son Heath Fletcher; an infant daughter; her daughter-in-law, DeAnna Runge (2022); parents, Wilbert and Irene Davis; her mother-in-law, Lila Runge; and her siblings, Francis (Hank) Lehl, Wilbert (Nancy) Davis Jr., Shirley (Charles) Finch, and Janet Berube.
Survivors include her husband, Robin, of North Platte; two sons, Eric Runge (Amber) of Paxton and Jonathan Runge (Brenna) of North Platte; grandchildren, Preston, Makayla, Matthew, Cheyenne, Travis, Chris, and Allen; sister, Ann (Kenny) Minary; along with many other relatives and friends.
