Carol Jessie Gibbs Saks

Mrs. Carol Saks, age 83, passed away on August 24, 2025, at her home in Monroe, North Carolina. Carol was born in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late Alpha Haven and Francis Gibbs. She graduated from Trenton High School then worked at New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company. A friend suggested a job as a dispatcher at New Jersey Bell Telephone Company where she met her "Prince Charming", Robert (Bob) Saks. They were married in 1962 and had two daughters.

Carol was a devoted stay-at-home mom before returning to the workforce part-time. She enjoyed her job as a merchandiser for American Greetings until Bob retired. In 1993, they moved to Lake Park, North Carolina, to be near their beloved "grandbabies." Once settled into their new home, Carol became active in the Union County Republican Party, was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church, and served for many years on the town's festival committees.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (affectionately known as Mena), and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Susan West and her husband, Kelly, and Sally Small and her husband, Gary; her granddaughters, Nicole Morren and Samantha Greco and her husband, Kenny; her great-grandson, Parker Morren; and her step-great-grandchildren, Mylah and Kaden Greco. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her sisters, Joyce Johnson and Elizabeth Gibbs, and her "Prince Charming," Robert Saks.

Services for Carol will be private and held at a later date.
