Carol Jean Stephens, 73, of Columbus, passed away on June 3, 2025. She was born in Columbus on December 12, 1951 to Jean (McDonald) Scott with loving help from father, Duane Scott. She married David Stephens and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2024; after being together for over 50 years and what would have been 45 years of marriage.
Along with her mother and father, those left to cherish Carol’s memory includes her daughter, Shanon (Heath) Mason; her grandchildren, Alyssa and Madelyn; siblings, William (Carolyn) Otis, Phyllis (Kevin) Cain, Bret (Vikki) Hagans, her Aunt Jane Barry; and many other family members and friends.
Carol worked in the kitchen at Notre Dame Elementary and St Marys Elementary schools for over 16 years, where she made homemade lunches for the students. She also was a loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed going estate sailing on Fridays; watching game shows and doing scratch offs in her spare time.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 10 to 12pm, Monday, June 23, 2025; at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Southwest, 3393 Broadway. Grove City, OH 43123. A service to honor Carol’s life will be held at 12pm, Monday, June 23, 2025; also at the funeral home.
