Cathy Bennington Obituary
Cathy Lynn Bennington, 67, of Grove City, OH, formerly of Lucasville, OH, passed away on February
13, 2026, at her home.
Born on June 4 th , 1958, in Portsmouth, OH, Cathy was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sallie
Steele (Hale). She graduated from Clay High School (1976) and Southeastern Business College where she
studied accounting. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and being with family.
Surviving are her children, Crystal (Chad) Helms of Louisville, KY, and Christopher (Stephanie)
Bennington of Grove City; grandchildren, Kaden Bennington, Sofie Helms, and Gretchen Hart-Latchaw;
sister, Traci Steele (Darin Miller); and niece Nicki Miller.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Ernest Bennington, whom she
married June 4 th , 1977, and two sisters, Linda Matthews and Sandra Cook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite charity or a flower planted in
Cathy’s honor.
