Monica Becherer Obituary
August 1, 1969 - February 7, 2026
Elizabethtown, Kentucky - Monica Mullins Becherer, 56, of Elizabethtown, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Louisville, after a short illness.
Monica was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and Georgetown College, where she was a captain of the cheerleading squad. Following college, she led a successful career in sales and banking, before shifting her focus to being a full-time mom. She enjoyed running marathons, riding horses, reading, dancing and music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her sons, granddaughter, nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Sammy Lee of Lexington.
She is survived by her husband, T. Edmund Becherer of Elizabethtown, her four sons, Thomas Browning Becherer (Leslie) of Lexington, William Bennett Becherer, Jay Edmund Becherer, Joseph Mullins Becherer, all of Louisville; her grand-daughter, Melanie Becherer of Lexington; her mother, Linda Lee of Lexington, her father, Bill Mullins (Netza) of Richmond, her sisters, Michelle Shipley (Todd) of Shelbyville, Suzanne Feran (Brennan) of Lexington, her brother, Maclain Mullins of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at The Cathedral of Christ the King, 299 Colony Blvd., Lexington, KY 40202. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church. A reception will follow the services in Hehman Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Monica's memory to your local humane society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

My heart goes out to the whole family. I am praying that all receive peace and comfort from our Lord Jesus Christ. Words cannot convey the sorrow I feel for you, nor can my words comfort you. In these times I reach to Scripture for the words. I hope you can draw strength and peace as I leave you with this: 2Thessalonians 3:16 - Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

I went to Henry Clay High School in Lexington with Monica. She was always very sweet and kind. Rest in peace
