Tressel, Carol Marie (née Peterson)
Age 89, passed away peacefully at home on June 5. Carol was born on Christmas Day in St. Paul to Evelyn and Harry Peterson, joining older brother Ralph ("Pete") in a large extended family of Swedes. She graduated from White Bear Lake High School. Carol met her husband Hank Tressel while skiing at Lutsen.
Carol found joy in the simple pleasures and miracles of life. She was an avid gardener, and artist. She was a tender-hearted person who treasured and nurtured all of God's creations from the budding leaves of springtime to her beloved family pets.
More than anything, Carol cherished her role as a mother. She took immense pride in her children-Peter (Randy Werner), Sarah (Pete Sprengeler), and Ann (Andy Kirn). Her encouragement and love were constants in their lives.
Carol's warmth, sense of humor and open heart brought joy to all those around her. Her cheerful, gentle spirit and unwavering kindness offered peace and comfort through the hard times and the good.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Hank, her children, extended family and all those who will miss her light in this world. Special thanks to her loving caregivers and friends with Home Instead.
A Funeral Eucharist will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (3045 Chicago Ave. S. Minneapolis). Memorials preferred to the charity of the donor's choice. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
