Carol F. Valenty

COHOES Carol F. Valenty, 89, of Western Ave. in Cohoes and Davenport, FL entered into eternal life Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Green Island, Carol was the daughter of the late Charles and Anne Deitch VanArnum. She graduated from Heatly High School as the valedictorian of her class and soon after married the love of her life, John M. Valenty, Jr. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years together raising their family in Cohoes, spending their winters in Florida and travelling all over the world. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going to the casino, camping and just relaxing by her pool.
Family was everything for Carol, from family dinners to never missing a sports game she was always there for her children and grandchildren.
Carol was the loving wife of John M. Valenty, Jr. who passed in 2015. She is survived by her beloved children, Anne and Pete Bariteau, Sr. of Cohoes, John Valenty III of Waterford and Robin and Jim Cotch of Clermont, FL; her adored grandchildren, Kim and Chris Drobny, Cara and Mike Greene, Jennifer and Martin Horwitz, Nick and Melissa Cotch, Megan and Jeremy Jones, Pete and Jasmine Bariteau, Jr., Anita Valenty, John Valenty IV and Charles Valenty; and her cherished great grandchildren, Brandyn, Kaelyn, Michael, Garrett, Abigail, Gianna and Vienna. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Muscatell (late Mike) as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Gail Garrity (late Donald) and by her daughter-in-law, Caren Valenty.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd. and at 12 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Trinity. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:30– 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
