With profound admiration and love, we remember Carol Anne Voltmann, a woman of remarkable tenderness and fortitude. Born in Wood-Ridge, NJ, on December 13, 1936, Carol's life was a testament to her compassion, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. She was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She left us on October 31, 2025, in Humble, Texas, leaving behind an indelible legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us.
A homemaker by profession, Carol's love for people was evident in her extensive volunteer work. Her compassionate heart found fulfillment in serving others. She was a charter volunteer at Northeast Medical Center in Humble, TX, from 1977 to 2020. Carol also served as the President of the Kingwood Ladies Golf Association in 1984 and was the Chairman of the Board at Martha's Kitchen in Houston, TX, from 1992 to 2020. She loved golf and couples bowling, yet her most cherished moments were the ones spent with her family.
Carol was born the second of three children, her identical twin sister having tragically passed at birth. Her life was a journey of love and dedication, from Wood Ridge, NJ, to Canton, CT, Brookfield, CT, and finally to Kingwood, TX. She attended the following schools, Our Lady of the Assumption Grammer School, Holy Trinity High School, and Fairleigh Dickinson College. She met her lifelong friend, and future sister-in-law Joanna when they were 10 years old. Her greatest joy was her family – her beloved husband, Arthur Voltmann, whom she married on October 26, 1956 at Our Lady of the Assumption
Church, Wood Ridge, NJ; her three sons; Robert Arthur Voltmann, Mark Anthony Voltmann, Matthew Ernst Voltmann, whom she adored; her cherished daughter-in-laws; Ginger Voltmann, Beth Voltmann, Lora Voltmann; as well her grandchildren Kurt Voltmann, Caitlin Voltmann, Sara Costello, Kenneth Costello, Stephanie Schroer, Michael Schroer, Griffin Robert Voltmann, Hilary Voltmann, Campbell Long Voltmann, Jennifer Marie Voltmann, Megan Smith, Keenan Smith, Sean Michael Voltmann, and great-grandchildren; Isaac Schroer, Addison Schroer, Reed Voltmann, Emma Schroer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew McCartlin, and mother, Ethel Collins, twin Sister, Beverly Mae McCartin, Brother, Robert Matthew McCartin, Sister-in-law Joanna Helen McCartin, Brother-in law George Lukatch, Sister-in-law Elfrida Marie Lukatch, Niece Nancy Lukatch, Father-in-law Ernst Martin Voltmann, Mother-in law Frida Voltmann.
We invite all who knew Carol to celebrate her life, her spirit, and her unwavering love. Please share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Each contribution will serve as a testament to Carol Voltmann's extraordinary life and her lasting impact on those around her.
