Carol I. Watson

Carol I. Watson, 92, of Manchester, MD, formerly of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Monday May 5, 2025. Born on December 9, 1932, the daughter of the late Albert M Troyer and Irene E Troyer. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Watson. They were married for 71 years until his death in 2023. She is also proceeded in death by her sister Doris Troyer and brothers Donald, Gilbert and Buddy Troyer. She is survived by son Jerry Watson and his wife Donna, daughter Robin Watson, three grandchildren: Ashley Myers and husband Coty, Daniel Watson and wife Jazzmen, Cory Tasley and husband Kevin, two step granddaughters, Tobie Burton and Stacie Savage and husband Mitch, and six great-grandchildren, Millie Myers, Izzy Myers, Miles Watson, Ruby Watson, Brooks Watson and James Tasley. Carol graduated from Franklin High School in 1949. Upon graduation she went to work for Maryland Casualty Company in Baltimore. After her marriage to Bud in 1952 they set off to San Diego California where Bud was stationed in the Navy. They returned to Owings Mills in 1954 but never forgot their Navy friends and attended numerous Navy reunions. She spent the next twenty years as a homemaker. She was skilled at sewing and baking. She later worked for Weight Watchers and for many years worked along with Bud at their business W&W Racing Tires/Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. Carol and Bud attended stock car races for many years representing Hoosier Tire. They loved interacting with all their racing friends. The family will receive visitors on Saturday May 10, 2025, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A memorial service will begin at noon. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
