Carol A. Watson, age 87, of Rochester, MN passed away December 19, 2025 at Edenbrook Pine Haven, Pine Island, MN.
Carol Ann Watson was born October 29, 1938 in Rochester, MN. The first born of eleven children to Ira and Dorothy (Becker) Newell. She attended country school and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1957. She married Rodney Ralph Watson and they were blessed with 4 children. They later divorced. Carol worked as a cook, paraprofessional at Jefferson school and her most rewarding position was being a secretary/receptionist at Watson Recycling in Rochester, MN. Carol loved her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, word puzzles, Brad's chicken wings and cheering on the MN Vikings.
She is survived by her children, Glen (Julie) Watson of Byron, MN, Dawn (Brad) Guenther, Chad Watson, and Dean Watson all of Rochester, MN; 21 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Linda Newell, Gloria Newell, Jim (Maureen) Newell, June (Bob) Langton, and Robin (Kim) Amundson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Dorothy Newell; Stepfather, Lloyd Smith; siblings, Ira, John, Leroy, Lowell Newell and Sharon Woudsma.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2025 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be held 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Interment will be held at Marion Cemetery at a later date.
