Carol Wheeler Obituary
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Mary (Roberts) Cummings, and her sister, Martha Henderson. She is survived by her husband, James Wheeler; her son, Corey Ward (Jill); her daughter, Carissa Engel (Carl); as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Nancy Page; her devoted brother, John P. Cummings II, who brought her comfort and joy throughout her life; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was dedicated to her church community, participating in the choir and teaching Sunday school, where she inspired many young lives. She had a talent for numbers and was known for her unwavering support as a wife and mother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midland Baptist Church, ensuring that her spirit of generosity lives on in the hearts of others.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. The memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Midland Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Maize Park Cemetery, located at 12733 West 53rd Street North, Maize, Kansas 67101.
We gather to celebrate Carol's life and the love she shared with all. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by everyone for her warmth and unwavering faith.
A memorial has been established with Midland Baptist Church, 4200 Church Circle, Wichita, Kansas 67205.
