Carol, 76, died October 6, 2025, of a congenital heart condition. She followed her husband, Boyd, who died in 2015 of ALS. Carol was a wonderful example of faith, especially in times of great difficulty, as well as obediently enduring to the end. She's southern to her core which is a wonderful balance of kindness, service, and sass. Above all else she loves her Father in Heaven and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Carol was born in a small town in Oklahoma and enjoyed many years living on her grandparents' farm. She moved to Texas as a child with her mother and brother, where Texas quickly became home. As a junior in high school, she met her future husband, Boyd, in early morning seminary four days after her 16th birthday. She was crazy about him, and after an endearing friendship, they fell into a deep love that was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were devoted to each other and enjoyed 47 years of marriage together before Boyd's death. She was blessed to care for him the last years of his life. Theirs was a young love, a forever love, a true love. It can be said that there was no Boyd without Carol and no Carol without Boyd. They never did like to be apart for very long, neither in life nor in death.

Carol loved being an American and traveled to all 50 states. She loved being up in the mountains and all of God's creations, especially Yellowstone National Park. Carol was quick-witted and loved a good pun. She was industrious, thrifty, and enjoyed many hobbies like sewing, volleyball, cross-stitch, camping, hiking, photography, music, journaling, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family. Carol was a voracious reader, especially of the scriptures. She loved to serve and did so in many capacities including a Spanish-speaking inner-city mission with Boyd, being a Jordan River temple worker, Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary president, ministering sister, and Blazer leader. She's a complicated lady, a moody blue. (Elvis fans, take note!)

Carol is survived by her seven children: Tiffany, Wendy, Aaron (Linda), Nicole (Aaron), Deborah, Bonnie (Chris), and Joy, 25 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her brother, Mike Troxell, and her mother, Jo Troxell. Carol requested no funeral. She was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park next to her husband, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
