ZINK, Carol Margaret (née Viles) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 85. Carol was born on Monday, January 1, 1940, in Centerville, Ohio as the only child of Richard Falen Viles and Margaret (née Hennessy) Viles.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Margaret & Richard.
Carol is survived by her four children, Craig (Julie), Todd, Deborah (Jon), Dennis (Lisa); their father; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Rachel, Tristan, Brittany, Drew, Brooke and Hunter, and six great grandchildren, Charles, William, Adeline, Hayden, Sophia and Micah.
She spent her carefree childhood growing up with her cousin, Ronnie Hennessey in the Miami Valley. She attended and graduated from St. Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduation she married Douglas Zink of Miamisburg, Ohio.
Throughout her life, Carol was known as a giving, helpful, and loving mother. Carol dedicated her life to raising her four children, and later when she entered the workforce, became a role model for women working outside the home with positions at Ohio Bell and Miami Township. She was a lifelong learner, even becoming a paramedic later in life. Carol has been featured in newspapers as a role model for women in the workplace as well as for her philanthropic work, making and donating many homemade blankets for the homebound, veterans, and nursing home residents.
As life progressed, Carol spent many summers at Lake Cumberland fishing, socializing, and playing her favorite card game of Euchre and Shanghai Rummy. Winters were spent south at the Gulf of America in Port Aransas, Texas, giving true definition to snowbirds.
Later in life, she lived her best life experiencing new adventures in Ohio, Montana and Oklahoma with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She ended her life with a smile on her face full of joy and contentment with her Lord and Savior.
Visitation calling hours for family to receive friends will be begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 in Calvary Cemetery - St. Henry Memorial Chapel -1625 Calvary Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45409. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30am. Carol will be laid to rest within the St. Mark Mausoleum. Reception to immediately follow.
