Carole Bradley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Browning-Forshay Funeral Home - Hawthorne on Mar. 27, 2026.
Carole Nash Bradley, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 26 2026.

Born on September 12, 1940, in Evanston, Illinois, Carole was the daughter of Roscoe Nash and Dorothy Nash. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Nicholas Bradley; her sister, Nancy Weaver; and her brother, Robert Nash.

Carole is survived by her devoted daughters, Meredith Bradley Messing and her husband, Blaine Messing, of Westport, Connecticut, and Caroline Bradley Contrini and her husband, Craig Contrini, of Wyckoff, New Jersey. She was a cherished grandmother to Jaden Messing (15), Cora Contrini (10), and Chloe Contrini (7), who brought her immense joy.

A passionate musician, Carole earned her Performance Degree from New York University. She shared her love of music throughout her life, teaching private violin lessons and teaching string instruments with the Abbey Orchestra at Delbarton School. Music remained a central and lifelong source of fulfilment for her.

Carole had many creative interests and talents. She was skilled at knitting, cake decorating, loved to travel, and was a frequent patron of the NYC Opera and Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was a gifted chocolatier to friends and family. Carole was deeply involved and devoted to the Sparta Presbyterian Church, where her faith and sense of community were especially meaningful.

Carole lived in Lake Hopatcong for 50 years, where she built a life rich in family and friendships. More recently, Carole was a resident of Cedar Crest Village, Pompton Plains, N.J., where she formed wonderful new friendships and enjoyed exercise classes and participation in the knitting club. Her favorite vacation place was Lake Michigan, where she spent many cherished summers with her extended family making memories that remained close to her heart.

Carole will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, faith, and the love she shared with all those who knew her.
