Carole Carlton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home - Tidewater Drive Chapel on Aug. 15, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Carole Elizabeth "Beth" Carlton went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2025, shortly after her 75th birthday. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and spent most of her childhood in the Ingleside area of Norfolk. A proud graduate of Maury High School and Tidewater Community College, Beth went on to serve as a librarian for the Virginia Beach Public Libraries for 37 years. She loved to laugh, had too many friends to count, and always enjoyed learning something new.

She was predeceased by her parents Carroll E. Carlton, Jr. and Hilda T. Carlton, and her older sister Cherry C. Ashley.

Left to remember her are her younger brother Carroll E. Carlton, III (Cy); her nieces Leigh Ashley, Lynn Hayes (Mike), and Amanda Virata (Tony); and her nephews Craig Carlton (Ashley) and Cody Carlton. She also had two great nieces Ashley Hayes and Abbey Hayes; and two great nephews Liam Carlton and Grayson Carlton.

A funeral service will be held to remember her on Friday, August 22nd at 1:00 at Lafayette Presbyterian Church. The service will be followed by a brief reception after which there will be a short graveside ceremony at Forest Lawn in Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
