Obituary
As written by her:
Carole Emogene Sanders Caynor, 89, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023. Born July 29, 1934, to a single mother in Webster Springs, WV. Carole never met her dad. Carole was raised by her Grandmother, Bessie Buroughs Sanders and her Grandfather, Richard Columbus Sanders, who died from melanoma when Carole was five years old. Carole attended schools in Arlington, Rock Cave, and Tennerton, WV. She met and married a neighbor boy, Willard Erwin Caynor, that moved to Rock Cave from Front Royal, VA. They lived in Weston, WV. He worked for Greg Groceries, driving a grocery truck and making 90 cents an hour. Willard's brother encouraged him to move to Ohio to get a better job. He worked for B&W in Barberton and retired as a molder from The Lectromelt in Barberton, OH. They built a house in the Sherman area of Norton, OH, where they raised six children: Anita Caynor Haney, Wayne Caynor, Charles Caynor, Phyllis Caynor, Paul Caynor, and Regina Caynor. She had 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Carole was a stay-at-home mom until the children grew up and left. She worked several jobs making golf grips, Sturm windows, waitressing, and an aide in a nursing home. This is when she decided to go to school and get her degree in nursing. Carole graduated from Howard School of Nursing for LPNs in March 1978. Later, she went to Akron General School of Nursing for RNs in 1987. Carole worked in the Wadsworth, OH area until retiring in 2000, when she bought her first new car, a 2000 Ford Taurus. Carole enjoyed sewing, making doilies, and quilting. She loved to bake, making cookies and cakes for her children and grandchildren. She attended the bible studies at the Active Adults Center in Barberton, OH. And played the piano where she and her children attended the Victory Baptist Church in Norton, OH
Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home 566 W. Park Ave. Barberton, OH, followed by a service at 6 P.M. with Ezra Caynor officiating.
