Monroe – Carole Harper, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the David Simpson Hospice House.

Carole was born on August 18, 1946, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Eleanor (Rich) Hicks. She was a graduate of Rowe High School, Class of 1964. Carole was blessed to spend many years at home raising her family. Later, she worked as a secretary for the Christian Law Office and also served as an independent home health caregiver.

Carole loved her friends and enjoyed socializing. She was a proud member of the Conneaut Doll Club and the Red Hats. In her later years, she treasured her daily phone calls with friends and looked forward to their conversations. She also enjoyed outings to the Lake Erie Boat Club and spending quiet time by the lake.

She is survived by her loving children, Kristen Adkins, Michael (Amy) Harper, and Steve (Brenda) Harper; grandchildren, David (Cassidie) Adkins, Zach Harper, Alex Adkins, Bryce Adkins, Abigail (Ryan) Smith, Daniel Harper, and Kerrick Harper; great-grandson, Roman Smith; siblings, Ron (Sue) Hicks and Diane (Tim) Eland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Douglas Harper; and her brother, Larry Hicks.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Dr. George Alquist officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the kindness and care they provided. Memorial contributions in Carole's name may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004.
