Carole Ruth Manjak, 88, of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully at home, on January 9, 2024.
Carole was born November 14, 1935, to the late Leonard and Ruth (Brunson) Phillabaum in Peru, Indiana. Carole graduated from Peru High School (1954), and Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in music (1959). She taught music and was a substitute teacher for over 30 years. Carole played the organ and piano. She always had both in her home and loved giving lessons. Many hours were spent around the piano with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
On August 27, 1960, she married William (Bill) Manjak.
Along with her husband of 63 years, Carole is survived by her 3 children; Greg Manjak of Westfield, Julie (Randy) Brouillette of Fowler, and Brett Manjak of Crawfordsville; Sister, Nancy McConnaughey of San Ramon, California; Seven grandchildren, Bailey (Shelby) Brouillette, Tessa Brouillette, Bridgette Brouillette, Ellie Brouillette, Annabelle Brouillette, Sophie Manjak, and Madeline Manjak; Three great grandchildren; Asher Brouillette, Darby Brouillette, and Brooks Masin. She is also survived by 3 nephews and 4 nieces. Carole was passionate about her family and enjoyed hosting family events. She is also survived by many truly wonderful friends that she cherished deeply as well. Carole was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in West Lafayette.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Janice Marquand. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Carole's name, be given to Sacred Heart School in Fowler, In.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. Rosary at 10:45 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oxford, In. with Fr. Bob Klemme officiating. There will be no graveside service at this time. Dinner to follow funeral service at St Patrick's Parish Hall.
