Carole Nemeth Obituary

Carole J. Nemeth

Carole Jean Nemeth, 84, of Holland, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. The fourth of nine children, she was born on July 24, 1941, in Cleveland; the daughter of Carl and Mary (O'Brien) Bongiorno. She, and her late husband Francis J. "Frank" Nemeth, were high school sweethearts and were married for 49 years before his passing in 2010. Frank was the love of her life and together they had five children. She was a dedicated member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church for over 55 years.

Carole was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, Donna Finch (Jeff), Frank Nemeth (Sally), Bob Nemeth (Shawn), Karen Barrett (Matt) and Tom Nemeth (Sara). She spent many years staying at home with them, then worked outside the home arranging after-school programs at Southwyck Lanes. In later years, she was a successful Realtor with Danberry in the Toledo area.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ellen, Mike, Abby, Mason, Zachary, Elizabeth, Jack, Carmen and Josie. She adored her great-grandchildren Reagan, Ezra, Pepper and Nolan. She didn't like a quiet home and looked for any opportunity to have them there to play, watch movies and eat popcorn and ice cream. She was the heart of the family, a great cook, and loved having her home filled with family for holidays and summer cookouts.

Carole loved playing golf, especially with her family and friends, and scored two holes in one during her time on the course. She was a social butterfly and enjoyed playing cards and Mahjong with friends. She was also a competitive Wordle player with her sons. Throughout her life, she built lifelong friendships with so many, and deeply cherished her time spent with them. Her social calendar was full, whether it be card games, golf, garden club or dinner with friends and family. She had a smile that would light up the room, always ready for fun and to share laughter with those around her. She was small but mighty, overcoming cancer in the last year and finding the strength to live the best life that she could.

She will forever be remembered for living life to the fullest, loving with all her heart, and treasuring her family and friends. She will be missed dearly, but her spirit will live on through them. There is great comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Frank.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road in Toledo. A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church and a luncheon will follow at St. Pat's Holy Family Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns church. Please view Carole's video tribute and leave a condolence message for the family at CoyleFuneralHome.com.
