Carole E. Olson

Carole E. (Carr) Olson, age 85, died peacefully October 27, 2025, while surrounded by family at Care Initiatives Nursing Home in Kingsley, Iowa. Carole was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 28, 1940, to Edmond and Marion (Whitney) Carr. She grew up and lived in Worcester until she married Bruce G. Olson in 1959. After marrying, they moved to Whitinsville where they raised their family. In 2016, Carole moved to live with her sisters in Iowa.

She is survived by her children Paige Gammon and her husband Donald, and Julieanna Murray and her husband Alan, all of Northbridge, and Bruce Olson, Jr., of South Carolina; three sisters: Barbara Allner and Shirley Mulhull, both of Mobile, Iowa, and Sharon Barnett of North Sioux City, South Dakota. Additionally, Carole leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 2009, her daughter Beth in 2022, and by her brothers Richard, Roger and Gary Carr.

Carole was a homemaker who enjoyed arts and crafts, caning chairs, and family gatherings. She will be deeply missed.
