Carole Jean Patterson, age 84, passed away peacefully on November 23, at home, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Born on April 24,1941 in Union, SC, She was the daughter of the late Clarence Morgan Daniel and Lucie Beckham Daniel. Carole grew up in Spartanburg, SC and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1959. After graduation, she worked at Southern Bell as a switchboard operator and from there went to work at Lowes Companies where she met the love of her life, Jack. Carole and Jack were married on June 26,1964. Together they built a home filled with warmth and purpose, often working side by side on projects around the house that reflected their shared creativity and care. They enjoyed taking vacations together, making memories in new places while always finding joy in the simple moments of being together. Their greatest joy came with the arrival of their two daughters, who became the center of Carole's world. After years of welcoming patients and families at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, Carole ended her career as a receptionist to raise her two daughters, Cynthia and Christina (Christy)-a decision she always considered her greatest blessing. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom who poured her heart into raising her two daughters, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter and love. She was the kind of mother every child dreams of - one who made ordinary days special and holidays magical. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting smells of home-cooked meals and baked treats, often preparing five-course dinners made with love and care. Summers were full of adventure, with endless pool days where she would show up with snacks for her girls and their friends, turning simple afternoons into cherished memories. Her love for the beach was contagious, and she was always up for a shark tooth search, somehow managing to find the very best ones every time. She was creative and crafty, able to turn any idea into something beautiful-whether through her art, handmade decorations or her knack for making every celebration unique and heartfelt. She gracefully took on the role of both parents when her husband, Jack traveled for work, ensuring that her daughters always felt supported, nurtured and deeply loved. Later in life, she cherished her role as a grandmother, taking her grandsons on nature walks, creating gingerbread houses every Christmas and sharing her boundless imagination with them. Her circle of close friends was dear to her heart. She, Perry and Ruby were like the three amigos; whether it was playing a game of rummy, creating delicious baked goodies or canning food to be enjoyed by all during the winter months. She gave as much love to her friendships as she did to her family. Her kindness, creativity and strength touched everyone who knew her. Carole Mom, Nana, will be remembered for her unwavering love, artistic spirit, and the countless ways she made life beautiful for those around her. Though she is no longer with us, her light will forever shine in the hearts of her family and all who loved her. Carole was the beloved wife of Jack H. Patterson; loving mother of Cynthia (Joe) Cusano and Christy (Scott) Ferguson; loving grandmother of Andrew, Evan, Chase and Jake; sister of Mike (Donna) Daniel.
