Carole Walsh Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 15, 2025.
Carole Walsh, 85, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, Minnesota.

She was born on February 10, 1940, in Almena, Wisconsin, to Hubert and Eleanor Henning. Carole grew up on the family farm in Wisconsin before moving to St. Paul at the age of 18 to begin work as a secretary at FOK, where she met and later married Richard "Dick" Walsh on January 21, 1961.

Carole enjoyed traveling and treasured the many experiences and memories she collected along the way. For a time, she owned and operated a ceramic shop, where she not only taught classes but also loved to listen to and share stories with all who attended. Creative by nature, Carole found joy in crafts, baking, and time spent with her family.

Carole is survived by her children, Roxanne Gross Walsh, Kelly Deery (Tim), and Pat Walsh (Renee); grandchildren, Jacob Walsh (Katie), Cody Gross, Ryan Gross, Will Deery, Allison Deery, Alex Walsh, and Lauren Walsh; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Zoey Walsh, and Clyde Howard; sister, Judy Johnston; brother, Jerry Henning (Dianne); along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Walsh; her parents, Hubert and Eleanor Henning; and her children, Jeanne Walsh and Dick Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 20, 2025, at Corpus Christi Church, 2131 Fairview Ave N., Roseville, MN 55113. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the Mass. A luncheon will immediately follow the service, with interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 10499 Rich Valley Blvd., Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077, following the luncheon. All who wish to attend are warmly welcome.

Carole faced several trials throughout her life but maintained a remarkable sense of humor, especially in her final years. She will be deeply missed by her family.

A special thank you to all of Kelly's coworkers at HealthPartners Como Clinic for their support over the last three years. The family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Beth Oman, APRN, Deacon Jim Nistler, and all of the staff at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks-both in assisted living and long-term care-for the kindness and loving care you provided to our mom over the last three years. A special thank you to Auntie Judy Johnston for taking time for her sister every day and for being there for all of us during difficult times over the last three years. The family is especially grateful for Florence, Mom's companion who became a dear friend, and whose presence brought comfort and joy to her days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the University of Minnesota Transplantation Research and Care, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
