Carole Lee Watkins

Carole Lee McNamara Watkins, 72, of Spotsylvania, VA sadly passed away July 30, 2025, in her home after battling health issues the last few years.

Carole was born Dec 24, 1952, in Freehold, NJ to her parents, the late Harold and Edith McNamara. After graduating from Freehold Township High School, she went to college while she waitressed. She later worked for Bell Atlantic in Red Bank, NJ, and transferred when Bell Atlantic merged with Verizon in Toms River, NJ, until leaving to take full time care of her son who had become disabled.

Her family will remember her as the beautiful soul she was. She was always helping someone. She loved her children, grandchildren, and pets unconditionally. Even as an adult, her daughter's welfare was her priority, and Crystal knows her mom will be watching over her from heaven. Her family is saddened by their loss, but knows she is at peace and no longer suffering.

Carole is survived by her loving daughter, Crystal M Burdge; grandchildren Dylan Burdge and McKenzie McDevitt; beloved pets Scooter and Sassy; close friends/neighbors, Johnny and Debra Schaefer; and many nephews and nieces. She is pre-deceased by her son, Michael J Watkins; and sister Beverly Liposky.

A celebration of life will be held between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold NJ.
