Caroline Barrett Obituary

Born on April 5, 1936, in Pontiac, Caroline Mae (Wells) Barrett lived a long and beautiful life devoted to her family and friends. She married Donald Barrett in 1954, and together they raised three children in Highland.
She passed Feb. 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband in March of 2015.
She grew up in the Davisburg/White Lake area and graduated from Holly High School. Caroline led an active life in her later years with her quilting groups, sewing, crafts, motorcycle riding, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, DAR, Eagles, a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Oscoda and her Wednesday ladies lunch group.
She enjoyed her VFW Family and was a pillar to them. She loved music and danced whenever the opportunity came up. Throughout her life Caroline was a source of unwavering support to her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Dorothy (Bogdan) Rentea of Austin, Texas, Donald (Renee) Barrett Jr. of West Branch and Tammi (Ron) Kett-Albert of Oscoda. She has seven grandchildren, Amanda, Carrie, Joshua, Sarah, Jenna, Dylan and Tyler; 11 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She will also be greatly missed by her Buffy cat.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m., at the VFW No. 3735, at 240 Chrysler Rd. in Oscoda.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Iosco County Humane Society.
