Caroline Sue Brummitte, born on May 3rd, 1943, to Charles & Susie Powell in Lenior City, Tennessee, has been called to the next life into the arms of Jesus. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of those she encountered during her 82 years with us. She spent her working life as a registered nurse, which she truly loved, using her compassion and joy as the medicine her patients needed; they were lucky to have such a benevolent and kindhearted spirit. Outside of medical practice, she was a passionate gardener and landscaper. Her family meant the most to her, followed closely by her cats as a second in line of kindred. She is loved dearly, remembered fondly, and missed every day.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eddie Brummitte Jr. Surviving her is her daughter Stephanie Brummitte (Mike) Madewell; grandchildren Ryan (Heather) Madewell, and Melanie Madewell, along with her great-grandchild Meredith Madewell. A graveside will be held privately by the family in the future at her family cemetery in Lenior City, Tennessee. For those who wish to remember her, the family encourages you to donate to your local animal shelter or humane society.
"I said in my heart with regard to the children of man that God is testing them that they may see that they themselves are but beasts. For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return. Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?"
Ecclesiastes 3:18-21
