Caroline Curran Obituary

Caroline Curran, 85, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away February 1st surrounded by family. She was born in 1940 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Fred and Helen Johnson and grew up in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

Caroline attended Agnes Scott College for two years and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1962 with a major in psychology and a minor in education. She married Robert (Bob) Aldret Curran in 1963. Together, they made their home in Summerville, SC and were devout members of Summerville Presbyterian Church. In the mid-seventies, she obtained her Master's of Education in Counseling. She was a practicing marriage and family therapist for a number of years before becoming a full-time English teacher at Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and Summerville High School. Caroline and Bob retired to Northeast Georgia in 2002.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Bob and is survived by daughter Anne Forrest Curran Prim (Bob); son Robert Aldret Curran, Jr. (Susan); son Benjamin Douglas Curran (Stefanie); grandchildren Bess and Will Prim, and Nathan, Rebecca, and Margaret Curran; and nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Nacoochee Presbyterian Church at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nacoochee Presbyterian Church, PO Box 87 Sautee-Nacoochee, GA 30571.
