Caroline Miceli Obituary

Caroline "Lina" Carmela Savaglio Miceli

July 28, 1962 - April 29, 2025

Caroline "Lina" Carmela Savaglio Miceli, 62, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., passed away on April 29, 2025.

She was born on July 28, 1962, in Kenosha, Wis.

Caroline is survived by her beloved husband, Giuseppe Miceli; her sons, Nicholas, Marco, and Matthew; her mother, Esterina Savaglio; her brother, John Savaglio; her brother-in-law, Luigi Miceli; her sisters-in-law, Lisa Savaglio and Adriana Miceli; and her loving nieces and nephews, Bianca, Sabrina, Domenic, Anna, and Dino.

She was preceded in death by her father, Domenico Savaglio; and her brother, Benny Savaglio.

Caroline grew up in a traditional Italian household where faith, family, and friendships were the foundation of her life. With two brothers, she developed a lifelong love of baseball and proudly cheered on the Cubs. She spent countless hours beside her mother in the kitchen, learning to prepare the meals that brought everyone together around the dining room table.

From her father, she learned the importance of hard work, education, and respect, values that shaped her character and guided her throughout her life.

Though she was shy and quiet in her early years, college became a transformative time where she found her voice and discovered a passion for science.

She graduated from Carthage College in 1984, with a degree in Biology and went on to have a successful career, spending 28 years at Abbott and another 10 at Cardinal Health, where she became a respected leader and mentor to many.

On March 17, 1985, an unforgettable St. Patrick's Day, Caroline met the love of her life, Giuseppe Miceli. From that day forward, they built a life together rooted in love and mutual devotion. Together they raised three sons, who were her pride and joy.

Faith and family remained central throughout Caroline's life. She lovingly hosted Christmas and Easter each year, carrying on Italian traditions through her cooking and baking, and creating treasured memories for her loved ones.

Caroline will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. She will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering faith, and the deep love and care she showed to everyone whose lives she touched.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home, from 4 to 7 p.m. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the funeral home, at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Entombment will be private at All Saints Cemetery and Mausoleum.

To the family of Lina,
I'm so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you, and I pray that the Lord will comfort you in your time of grief. I met Lina when she worked for Abbott Molecular and would see her and catch up at the RAPS meetings. I feel bad that I wasn't aware that she was ill. Now she is with our Father and no longer suffering because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
