Obituary of Caroline J. Richards
Caroline J. Richards (nee Prettyman), of Turnersville, passed away on May 29th, 2024, after a rigorous battle with cancer at the age of 86.
Born to the late George and Susanna (nee Gaunt) Prettyman on February 10th, 1938, in Camden, NJ. Carol is the beloved sister of George Prettyman, Martha (Marian) Di Martins, the late Susan (Walter Sr.) Krasicki, John Prettyman, the late James Prettyman (2009), and Walter Prettyman. Carol's world became full of life, laughter, and love when she became the loving mother of Franklin Burr and Carolyn McCloskey. Carol met the love of her life, the late John Richards (2005) and spent a loving 45 years together until his passing. Together the couple loved to spend quality time with one another, go out to dinner, and make each other laugh. The pair became grandparents of the late Abigail (2022), Kendall, Madison, and honorary grandchild "Suzie". Carol recently became the proud great-grandmother of Kennedy. She is remembered fondly by her sister-in-law Christine Prettyman, as well as many friends and family.
Carol is a 49th year member of Athene Chapter #201 NJ Order of the Eastern Star, had a charismatic, outgoing personality, and loved deeply. Often, Carol could be found playing Slots at the casinos, listening to her favorite artist, Elvis, and eating dinner at the local diners.
