Caroline Dorothy Rule

Caroline Dorothy Jensen Rule, born May 7, 1934, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 13, 2026.

Caroline was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Byron Donald Jensen and Eliza Josephine Pledger. She grew up alongside her four brothers and three sisters, forming strong family bonds that she cherished throughout her life.

Caroline had a vibrant and hardworking spirit. She found great success selling Avon, a hobby she truly enjoyed and excelled in. She also worked as a medical assistant, a profession she was passionate about, dedicating 20 years of service before retiring.

After retirement, Caroline embraced life fully by traveling with the love of her life, David W. W. "Woody" Rule. The two were married on March 8, 1950, and shared a lifelong partnership filled with love, companionship, and adventure. They were married for 70 years.

As we sat by her bedside, holding her sweet hand, we reflected on how hard those hands had worked. Now they were soft, frail, and ready to finally rest. It was bittersweet to let her go. We will always remember our mother's talented hands-sewing beautiful clothing, creating a home filled with warmth and class, and always presenting herself with grace. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. We will love and miss her deeply.

Caroline will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to family, her strong work ethic, and the joy she found in both her career and her personal life.

She is survived by her three children: Christine Urwin (Randy), David Rule (Janelle), and Carrie Rule; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Jensen (Audrey); Kathy Aston; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, David W. W. "Woody" Rule; her brothers Don, Louis, and Roy; her sisters Geraldine and Beverly; and many other cherished friends and family members.
