Caroline Scott

Caroline Scott, 82 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. She was born in Rella, Kentucky, the youngest of 7 children, to the late Thurlow and Cleadie Hubbard Smith. Mrs. Scott was raised in Brooklyn, Indiana and had made Lake City her home since 1973. She loved going thrift shopping and putting together puzzles that she found on her shopping trips. Mrs. Scott was a Christian and a member of Abundant Life here in Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kim Harvey; one brother, Clarence Smith; and four sisters, Jackie Collins, Catherine Forrestor, Mag Scrougans and Pauline Collins.

Survivors include her husband, Herman L. Scott of Lake City; her brother, James Smith and wife Joanie of Martinsville, IN; two grandchildren, Josie and Mikie; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Asher and Brody; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Scott will be conducted on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 4:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Cagney Tanner of Abundant Life officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A time of visitation with the family will be prior to the services on Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
