Philip John Murphy, 74, of Lake City departed this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born May 16, 1951, in East St. Louis to the late Lewis and Marjorie Murphy.
Philip was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He found great joy in woodworking and spending time with animals, often helping raise and care for them. He loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, deep sea salmon fishing, and shooting sports. Above all, he cherished time with family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched over the years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Murphy.
He is survived by his sons, Jason Murphy (Heather) of Greenwood, Arkansas, Cody Murphy (Corinne) of Mountain Home, and Casey Murphy of Mountain Home; two brothers, Tom Murphy (Susan) of Marion, Arkansas, and Tim Murphy (Kathy) of Harrisburg; sisters, Jeannine Thompson of Jonesboro and Pixie Murphy (Gary) of St. Paul, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Gavin Murphy, Shelby Murphy, Kenzie Murphy, Rowan Murphy, and Fallon Murphy; along with several nieces and nephews and a lifetime of friends.
A Mass will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice or flowers may be sent, whichever is easier.
