Rick Dewayne Maxwell, 72, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1953, in Jonesboro to Gerald and Hazel Maxwell.
Rick worked as an airplane mechanic in the agricultural industry, a career that perfectly matched his love for anything mechanical. He truly enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found tinkering on four-wheelers and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. If it had an engine, Rick enjoyed figuring it out and making it run better.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald “TG” Maxwell, and his son, Brandon Maxwell.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Maxwell (Betty) of Pelahatchie, Mississippi; his mother, Hazel Maxwell of Jonesboro; and his grandchildren, Frankie Maxwell and Layla Vinzant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Wynndel King officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Bono with the pallbearers being Billy Rice, Bud Rice, Cody Baugh, Brad Baugh, Tyler Baugh, and Billy Hall. The honorary pallbearer is Darrel Meredith and Terry Moody.
