Caroline Rae Yoos, 78, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on February 22, 2025.
Caroline was born on August 28, 1946, in Chanute, Kansas, to Charles and Lottie (Armbruster) Yoos. She spent her early years in southeast Kansas and graduated from Pittsburg High School, where she formed lasting friendships and developed a love for learning and music. She went on to attend the University of Kansas, earning her degree and remaining a proud Jayhawk throughout her life.
For many years, Caroline worked as an accountant at Caravan Ingredients, where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong work ethic, and warm camaraderie with her colleagues. She took pride in her work and built lifelong friendships throughout her career.
Caroline had a sharp mind, a dry wit, and a quiet generosity. She loved records and her family and had a real knack for history. An animal lover at heart, Caroline supported local animal shelters and gave many pets a loving home over the years. She was also a long-standing supporter of the Presbyterian church.
She is lovingly survived by her nephews, Scott Yoos of Olympia, Washington, and James Yoos of Bellingham, Washington; her niece, Dr. Megan Weber of Bellingham, Washington; and her close and devoted friend, Kathey Kelly of Kansas City, Kansas. She is also survived by her great nephews, Charles and Levi Yoos (children of James), and Samuel Greenfield, Cole Weber and Hunter Weber (children of Megan Weber). Caroline's kindness, humility, and dry sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lottie Yoos, and her beloved brother, Charles Fredrick Yoos, father of Scott, James and Megan.
A memorial service to celebrate Caroline's life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th Street, Pittsburg, Kansas. She will be laid to rest following the service at Highland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Caroline's honor to the Southeast Kansas Humane Society or the Presbyterian Church-two causes especially close to her heart.
