Forever In Our Hearts

Carolyn Geneva Bailey, lovingly known as Carol, 83 years young, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Carolyn was born on September 27, 1942, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Elwon and Drucie Violet Sill. On March 8, 1963, she married the love of her life, Vernon Clark Bailey, beginning a lifelong journey of love and devotion.

Carol was a remarkable cook who found great joy in preparing delicious meals for her family, friends, and customers. She had a deep love for plants and flowers and spent time working in greenhouses, nurturing the beauty she so appreciated. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading and playing bingo.

She is survived by her cherished children: Ronda Bailey, Kathryn Thomas, Robert Bailey and his wife Jennifer, Amber Mitchell and her husband Ross, and Tanya Ludlow and her husband Jeffery; eighteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Sharon Bowles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Bailey; her parents; her grandson, Travis Foster; her great-granddaughter, Geneva Brewer; and brother Dennis Sill.

Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, kindness, and love for family will be remembered always. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
