Carolyn M. Bodnar

New Castle, PA. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday April 1,2026 at 10:30 am at the Holy Spirit Parish/St. Vitus 910 S. Mercer Street, New Castle, PA 16101 for Carolyn M. Bodnar 88, who passed away on Tuesday morning March 17, 2026 .

Carolyn was born on June 1, 1937 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of Peter and Mary Olacz and was a lifelong area resident.

She earned an associate degree from the New Castle Business College and then worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Lawrence County, a secretary for Penn Dot in New Castle, PA, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Church/St. Vitus, and she also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital and the VA Clinic, all in New Castle, PA. She was past president at Mary Martha Guild in St. Joseph the Worker.

Carolyn married Donald Joseph Bodnar on August 17, 1963 . Besides her loving husband whom she was married to for 62 years of New Castle, she leaves one son Jon (Regina A.) Bodnar of New Castle, PA; son-in-law Pete Milkovich; two grandchildren Nicholas and Andrew Mikovich , and a sister-in-law Evelyn Olacz of New Castle, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Caroline Milkovich, and three brothers, Richard, John and Ed Olacz : three sisters Stella Litterini, Ann Milkowicz and June Duda.

As per Carolyn's wishes there will be no calling hours.
