Carolyn Jean Bush, born on September 29, 1951, in Paterson, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. She grew up in Oakland, New Jersey, and left behind a legacy of laughter, love, and kindness that will be forever cherished by her family and friends.

Carol was predeceased by her father Harvey Bush, her stepfather James Whitehead, and her mother Carolyn Whitehead. She is survived by her loving fiancé, Ray Flint; her devoted children, Julie Sanchez and her husband Carlos, and Michael Bindas and his wife Myriam; and her beloved grandchildren, Blodwen, Odinn, and Sigrid Bindas.She also leaves behind her siblings, Judith Davie, Elaine Sadeghi, Diane Stelmach, James Whitehead, Daniel Whitehead, and Naomi Gormley. 

Carol’s memory will be cherished by her nieces and nephews: Krista Cioletti, Sarah Warren, Jeffrey Stelmach, Kevin Davie, Allison Gerley, Lauren Gormley, Allison Gormley, April Gormley, Caden Whitehead, Dylan Whitehead, Cameron Whitehead, and Katie Whitehead.

Carol was known as a "wild and crazy kind of girl," loved for her vivacious spirit and infectious humor. She found joy in gardening, spending time with her family and friends, and caring for animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. Music was a cornerstone of her life, from her first concert with The Beatles to her last with The Rolling Stones. Carol delighted in practical jokes, singing, garage sales, and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. Her spirituality was a source of strength, and she enjoyed watching Dr. Stanley’s teachings.A proud Dutch woman through and through, Carol was known for her saying, "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much". 

Carol was a dedicated hairdresser who made it her mission to brighten the lives of others, especially those in nursing homes. She took pride in her work, believing that doing someone’s hair could make a meaningful difference in their day. It was at hairdressing school that she met her loving partner, Ray. Over the years, Carol worked at numerous nursing homes and enjoyed working with her friends at Preakness Healthcare Center, where her kindness and care touched many lives.

Carol loved visiting the West Milford Animal Shelter, where she would often go to pet the animals and share her affection for them. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the shelter in her honor. Carol’s spirit, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.
