Carolyn F. Clancy of Freedom, N.H., passed away on December 5, 2024, from cancer. She was born in Melrose, MA, on January 12, 1931. Carolyn was a Freedom girl most of her life. She was Ms. Freedom and was very proud of that. She had her associate's degree from McIntosh College/ UNH. Carolyn worked for Yield House in sales and also the Center of Hope for many years, caring for the mentally handicapped. She also cared for neighbors in Freedom Village.
She loved to travel with her partner, Ted Acton, who was 101 when he passed. There are many fond memories of them going on road trips, river cruises and spending time with friends and family. Some of her hobbies were riding her yellow motorcycle around town, mowing her lawn and planting colorful flowers as well as making beaded jewelry for loved ones. She also was an animal lover, especially cats. Carolyn loved her family and the little town of Freedom, where she spent most of her life.
Her surviving children are Cynthia Clancy, Carol-Ann Ball, David Clancy and Dean Clancy. Her grandchildren, Jen, Emily, Elyse, Marcus, Sarah, Eric, Ashley, Isabelle and Dylan, Madeleine and Samantha. Carolyn also had nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her partner, Ted Action, as well as her sister Eleanor Prince at 97, in 2023. A very special thanks to all the wonderful people who took care of our mother in the last years of her life. It takes a village! From our hearts to yours in every way. Thank you all, family, friends and caregivers. God bless.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Freedom, NH.
There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Freedom, NH.
