Carolyn Blanche Combs passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at her home. She was born February 13, 1944 to James Combs and Katherine Osborne.
Carolyn was a fun, charming, hard-working, strong, independent, free-spirited, kind and caring lady. She was beautiful in every way, and also a little bit stubborn. She was always the one taking care of everyone else, but didn’t enjoy needing to be taken care of.
Carolyn was like a mother to more than just her children. Her smile always lit up the room wherever she happened to be. She also loved dancing and singing along to music. She was truly special, and words cannot express how much she will be missed.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Cecil and Homer Combs.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Nancy Combs and brother in law, Richard Reece; sister, Earlene Combs and brother in law, Russell Roark; niece and nephew, Scott and Amy Roark; son, Deamus D. Watson and daughter in law, Dawn Watson; daughter, Melissa Watson and her partner, Wiley Dunn; granddaughters, Alexis and fiancé Zach Thompson and Heather Watson; grandson, Wayne Gregory and his wife, Sabrina; great grandchildren, Nathan, Kendra, and Dustin Barnes; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service and burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Derrick Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Watson, Wayne Gregory, Nathan Barnes, Wiley Dunn, Michael Bumgardener, and Barry Trivette. Honorary pallbearers are Zack Thompson and Dustin Barnes.
