Carolyn Sue Cook, 78, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Born on February 27, 1947, in Red Rock, Arkansas, Carolyn was the daughter of Lawrence Jefferson and Famie Norma (Shattswell) Robinson. She carried with her the warmth, strength, and spirited nature of her roots throughout her life.

Carolyn found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was a trip to the casino, a spirited board game, or a hand of cards played around the table with loved ones. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially loved fishing, where she found both peace and excitement.

Family was at the heart of Carolyn's life. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Sue" by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a reflection of her vibrant spirit and unwavering love. Her home was always filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of warmth that only a matriarch like Carolyn could provide.

Carolyn is survived by her children: LaDonna Gillespie of Neosho, Missouri, Virginia Appenzeller of Ft. Worth, Texas, Marquita Tidwell of Neosho, Missouri, Reane and her husband David Williams of Jasper, Missouri, and John Cook of Neosho, Missouri, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, one sister Betty Lou Stanback. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Cook, her parents, son Dale Moore, and six siblings.

Carolyn's legacy lives on in the countless memories she created with those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered for her wit, her strength, and the love she so freely gave.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri from 12:00pm-1:00pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the same location. Serving as pallbearers will be: Joshua Appenzeller, Jonathan Appenzeller, Brandon Williams, Logan Williams, Jason Proctor, McGarren Gillespie and Jacob Cook.
